The Social Science for Policy and Extension Division designs and implements social science-based research and public service activities that inform decisions and actions toward building and enabling an environment for progressive control of transboundary animal diseases.

- Elucidation of the role of culture, economic, and other social factors as drivers of zoonotic transmission as well as decision-making that can address this problem

- Design & delivery of support services for livestock producers and other stakeholders in confronting the challenges of zoonotic disease transmission
- Generate sound evidence of policy options for progressive control of zoonotic disease transmission (& outcomes)
- Development of evidence-based, human-centered policy options, co-designed with stakeholders.
